For the 2011-12 school year, we’ll be digging into James, one of the most practical books in the Bible. Ladies of all ages are invited to join us as we learn about active, life-shaping faith.

James grew up alongside Jesus, his half-brother, and ultimately the relationship transformed James’s life. In this very personal book he clarifies the intersection of faith and works. Many Jewish Christians of that day still were intent on keeping the rituals of the Law, so James spends considerable time explaining the difficult truth that no one is justified by works. He emphasizes that our good works are a result of salvation, not the cause of it.

James covers a lot of ground in a mere 108 verses. Join us as we break down each passage, investigating the history and drawing out practical applications for personal growth. We meet at church at 10 a.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month. (Please see the calendar below for a few exceptions.) On the third Tuesday, pack a lunch and stay after class for an informal time of fellowship and encouragement.
